Course Syllabus
The NIELIT CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) syllabus for 2026 is based on Revision 4 (implemented from October 1, 2023) and uses LibreOffice instead of MS Office for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Syllabus Chapters & Topics
The 90-hour course (30 hours theory, 60 hours practical) covers 10 main chapters:
- Introduction to Computer: Basics, history, hardware vs. software, input/output devices, memory types (RAM, ROM), and units of measurement. [1, 2]
- Introduction to Operating System: Functions of OS, Windows basics, file/folder management, file extensions, and Ubuntu Linux introduction. [1, 2]
- Word Processing (LibreOffice Writer): Creating/saving documents, text/paragraph formatting, tables, find/replace, and mail merge. [1, 2]
- Spreadsheet (LibreOffice Calc): Worksheets, data entry, basic formulas/functions (SUM, AVERAGE, IF), sorting, filtering, and charts. [1, 2]
- Presentation (LibreOffice Impress): Creating slides, formatting multimedia, slide masters, transitions, and animations. [1, 2]
- Introduction to Internet and WWW: Networks (LAN, MAN, WAN), internet/intranet, web browsers, URLs, IP addresses, and search engines. [1, 2]
- Email, Social Networking and e-Governance Services: Creating/managing emails, CC/BCC, social media safety, DigiLocker, and UMANG portal. [1, 2]
- Digital Financial Tools and Applications: UPI, AEPS, USSD, debit/credit cards, digital wallets, internet banking, and security (OTP discipline). [1, 2]
- Overview of Future Skills and Cyber Security: IoT, cloud computing, big data, AI, blockchain, malware, viruses, phishing, and firewalls. [1, 2]

Exam Pattern Overview
- Total Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and True/False
- Total Marks: 100 Marks (1 mark per question)
- Negative Marking: None
- Duration: 90 Minutes
- Passing Marks: 50% (50 out of 100) [1]
